Marsh is the world’s leading Insurance Broker, providing Risk Engineering services across the globe. The Property Risk Engineer will conduct standard risk engineering surveys, support the Broking team in placing risks, and develop new business opportunities.
Requirements
Sound working knowledge of building / property standards (building codes, fire testing, NFPA standards)
Understanding of business risk and ability to communicate clearly that risk to the client
Exposure to risk assessed driven decision-making is essential
Ability to communicate effectively to all organizational layers
Ability to be autonomous in the role, taking responsibility in delivering for clients and developing the business in the region
Exposure to allied industries such as Commercial, Warehouse Manufacturing, Power, Utilities, etc. is a significant benefit
IT literacy to include general office systems such as Word, Excel, Power Point (or similar)
Experience of technical simulation packages for fire modelling, risk assessment, project execution purposes as is relevant to field of expertise
Enhanced written and verbal communication skills
Business Acumen
Articulate internal and external business goals and overall strategies needed to attain these goals
Complies with and checks performance against professional standards and best practices
Client development: Develops new and expanded business opportunities
Utilize and develop spheres of influence to develop new and expanded business
Excellent communications (Oral and Written)
Develops and maintains client relationships
Experience in the Insurance industry would be beneficial but not essential
Proficient in company sanctioned software and systems, as well as relevant use of Internet
Proficient in English language (speaking, reading and writing)
